By accessing or using ByteChat.io ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the Service. These terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Byte Chat ("we", "us", "our").
If you are using the Service on behalf of an organisation, you represent that you have authority to bind that organisation to these terms.
ByteChat is a web-based platform that allows users to interact with multiple AI language models simultaneously using their own third-party API keys (BYOK — Bring Your Own Key). The Service acts as an interface and proxy layer between users and AI providers such as OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, and others.
ByteChat is not itself an AI provider. All AI responses are generated by third-party providers. ByteChat is not responsible for the content, accuracy, or availability of those third-party AI services.
API Keys: You are solely responsible for obtaining, managing, and securing your API keys from third-party AI providers. You must comply with each provider's terms of service when using their API through ByteChat.
Key security: Do not share your API keys with others. ByteChat stores your keys locally in your browser and does not have access to them server-side, but you remain responsible for any usage that occurs under your keys.
API costs: You are solely responsible for all costs incurred with your AI provider accounts resulting from your use of ByteChat. ByteChat has no liability for unexpected or excessive API charges.
Account (Phase 2): When account registration becomes available, you are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access for any violation of these terms.
Plans: ByteChat offers free and paid subscription plans as described on our Pricing page. Plan features and prices may change with reasonable notice.
Billing: Paid subscriptions are billed monthly or annually in advance via Stripe. By subscribing, you authorise us to charge your payment method on a recurring basis.
Cancellation: You may cancel your subscription at any time from Account Settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. No partial refunds are given for unused time, except as described in our refund policy.
Refunds: We offer a full refund within 7 days of your first payment if you are unsatisfied. After 7 days, refunds are at our discretion. Contact [email protected].
Price changes: We will give at least 30 days' notice before any price increase, via email or in-app notification.
Failed payments: If payment fails, we will attempt to retry and notify you by email. Access may be suspended after 7 days of failed payment.
Our IP: ByteChat, its design, code, branding, and content are owned by Byte Chat and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, reproduce, or create derivative works from our platform without written permission.
Your content: You retain all ownership of content you input into ByteChat. By using the Service, you grant us a limited licence to transmit your content to third-party AI providers solely for the purpose of providing the Service.
AI outputs: The ownership of AI-generated responses may be subject to the terms of the relevant AI provider. ByteChat makes no claim over AI-generated content.
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that:
Use of AI-generated content is at your own risk. Always verify important information independently.
To the maximum extent permitted by Singapore law, Byte Chat shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to:
Our total liability to you for any claim arising from use of the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 3 months preceding the claim, or SGD 100, whichever is greater.
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Byte Chat from any claims, damages, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any third-party AI provider's terms of service.
We may suspend or terminate your access to ByteChat at any time for violation of these Terms, with or without notice. You may stop using the Service at any time.
Upon termination of a paid account, your subscription will not be renewed. Data stored locally in your browser is not affected by account termination.
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be notified via email (if we have it) or via an in-app notice at least 14 days before taking effect. Continued use of the Service after changes constitute acceptance. If you do not agree to the new terms, you must stop using the Service.
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Singapore, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any dispute arising from these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Singapore.
